Teen Arts Center @ Palenke Arts - 2025/26

We are incredibly excited to announce the launch of our Teen Arts Center’s FALL 2025 Classes @ Palenke Teen Art Center open to Seaside teens and pre-teens ages 12-19 and returning Palenke Arts students. Please register ASAP, as capacity is VERY LIMITED. Thanks to a generous grant from Monterey Peninsula Foundation, Montage, Monterey Peninsula Volunteer Services and Harden Foundation our workshop and creative lab registration fees have been waived for all students. Thank you!

Nos da mucho gusto anunciarles el lanzamiento de la Sesiones de Otoño 2025 del Centro de Artes para Adolescentes @ Palenke Teen Arts Center para jóvenes de Seaside de edades 12-19 y aquelles que eran estudiantes de Palenke Arts. Por favor, regístrense cuanto antes, ya que las plazas son MUY LIMITADAS. Creative Labs

  • Leadership

    • Every other Monday starting 8/18  4PM - 5:30PM

    • Be a part of Palenke's event planning, create content, share ideas on future events, and join in on activities during meetings. 

  • Music Collective

    • Every Tuesday starting 8/19  4:30-6pm

    • Open to students of ALL skill levels, whether you're a beginner or an advanced musician. We invite you to bring your instrument, but we will also have limited inventory available to borrow. Use this time to practice with your own band, create projects, or use it as a rehearsal space.

  • Podcasts

    • Every Tuesdays 3:30 - 4:30PM AND Wednesdays 2:30 - 3:30PM

    • Learn, create, and record your own podcasts using our tech stations.

  • Music Production Lab

    • Every Thursdays AND Fridays starting 8/22 3:30PM - 4:30PM

    • Use this lab time to work on your original compositions, create beats, and record your demos.

Workshops

  • Music Production

    • Mondays starting 8/25 4:30PM - 6PM

    • From learning how to mix, beat making, to audio editing, learn how to use a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) and create your own music.

  • Live Audio Production 

    • Thursdays 8/22 - 9/12 4:30-6PM

    • No Experience Required

    • Join our Live Audio Production workshops to learn how to keep a show running using different audio techniques and learning the basics! You will have the opportunity to shadow a sound technician while helping with sound at one of our Palenke events. Plus, you can receive volunteer hours for participating in this workshop and the event!

  • Film Production 

    • Fridays 9/19 - 10/17 4:30-6PM

    • No Experience Required

    • Learn the skills to make a film, from script writing to production technical skills, like camera, lighting, sound, and editing. Students will be equipped with the skills to be able to film events, short films, etc.

  • Photography 

    • Fridays 10/24 - 11/14 4:30-6PM

    • Learn how to capture images using digital and analog techniques and editing photos.

Class vs. Workshop vs Creative Lab: What’s the Difference?

  1. Class: Taught by a Palenke Teaching Artist. Paid or scholarship-based (scholarships available). Each student may take 2 classes maximum. Attendance is mandatory; students are allowed no more than 3 absences.

  1. Workshop: Free 4-part series, requires sign-up before attending.  Typically a 4-part series. Free for Palenke students.

  1. Clases /Talleres/Actividades Creativas: ¿cuál es la diferencia?

    1. Clase: enseñada por un artista de Palenke. Pagado o basado en becas (becas disponibles). Cada estudiante podrá tomar 2 clases como máximo. La asistencia es obligatoria; a los estudiantes no se les permite más de 3 ausencias.

  1. Taller: Serie gratuita de 4 partes para miembros del Palenke Teen Center; requiere inscripción antes de asistir.  Normalmente una serie de 4 partes. Gratis para estudiantes. Antes de asistir, los estudiantes deben registrarse para convertirse en miembros del Palenke Teen Center.
